Access and rules
Natural Bridges is a national monument run by the Park Service; as of 2026 entry is $20 per vehicle. The Horse Collar Ruin Overlook is a short, unpaved walk out from the scenic drive to the mesa edge, across the canyon from the ruin.
Our story
We stopped at the Horse Collar Ruin Overlook on October 17, 2026, and photographed the ruin across the canyon on the long lens: stone rooms under a sandstone alcove. The Park Service calls it one of the best-preserved ancestral Puebloan sites in the area, named for doorways shaped like horse collars.
