Milky Way over the Amphitheater

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

A little before midnight on a June night in 2024, the Milky Way low over the Bryce amphitheater and the hoodoos just holding their shape below it. Bryce is a Gold-tier International Dark Sky Park. At the viewpoints, use only red light: white light ruins everyone's night vision. The 30-second exposure that lets the hoodoos show also stretches the stars slightly, so we offer this one only in the smaller sizes.
